Bud Break Has Arrived!

There’s a moment every spring that fills us with hope, excitement, and just a touch of nerves — bud break. And I’m happy to report: it’s officially here.

The vines have officially awakened from their winter dormancy, and fresh green growth is now pushing out from the buds that we so carefully pruned during the colder months. This is one of our most exciting and delicate stages of the growing season. Each one of these tiny shoots holds the potential for the clusters of fruit we’ll harvest later this year — it all starts now.

Our vineyard manager, Steve, has seen buds popping on both our mature vines and our young plantings. From the gnarled trunks of our older blocks to the slender canes of our newest rows, the vineyard is officially alive and growing.

This period requires vigilant attention. Spring frosts, strong winds, and uneven temperatures can all affect the development of these tender shoots. Our crew is keeping a close watch and is ready to respond if Mother Nature throws us a curveball.

But for now, we celebrate. The vineyard is stirring with life, and the 2025 vintage is officially underway.

Cheers to a strong start and an abundant season ahead!
