The nose of this Marquette is all spice and jammy dark, berries, with whiffs of Luxardo cherries. The rounded palate shows warm, baked cranberry, blackberry, blueberry sauce and cedar. Soft tannins lend structure and quiet acidity teeters on the edge of flabby, finishing on cassis and woody tang.

The palate brings more cranberry and cherry, joined by ripe, juicy pomegranate. Gentle tannins slowly emerge while the tart acidity lightens the baked quality of the fruit flavors. Tart fruit tones linger on the finish, with clove and a final grip of tannin. Marquette is typically medium bodied with aromas of cherries, black currants, and blackberries, more complex aromas are tobacco and leather with spicy pepper notes on the finish.
